Brain Based Learning
We emphasize an investigative approach involving problem solving, reasoning and proof, connections, and communication. We incorporate the Common Core Standards in our curriculum.
Brain Based Learning Using Physio-Neuro Therapy to Link Ability and Performance

Mathmatical Thinking for Instruction

We are able to make better decisions about the learning process and students grow as thinkers and gatherers of knowledge. We ask students to explain why correct answers are right and why and how they came up with the incorrect ones. This consistently leads to deeper, more accurate learning (Bielaczyc et al. 1995).

The Two Phases of Learning
  • Teaching
  • Internalization
What affects the development of the Learning Process?
  • Physical Stress
  • Environment
  • Heredity
  • IQ
What are the greatest factors in neurological growth?

  • Stimulation
  • In-depth discussions and summaries.
  • Students need to talk about, think through, summarize, question, rewrite, and recall the learning to develop some depth of elaboration. (Eric Jensen)
The Purpose of Brain Based Learning
  • To better benefit from instruction.
  • To help each student to be able to gather knowledge, to store information and to apply their new set of skills.
  • To improve self-esteem.
